We've written from time to time about how few single family homes are available to buy in East Lakeview (the neighborhoods east of North Halsted in the Lakeview Community Area). That's why we were excited to come across 441 W Surf while showing properties in the neighborhood this weekend.
This beauty on a ridiculous double lot (49' x 132') has had an active recent past. A developer bought the property in 2006 for $2,500,000. There was a quit claim deed in 2010 and then a foreclosure in 2012. Another LLC bought the foreclosure property in March this year for $1,138,500 according to public records. Than it was listed on the MLS for two months this summer at $2,500,000 before being cancelled.
The home has now been gutted for renovation.
