East Village condo unit sales BOOM 42% in West Town, Chicago. Prices up too.

We'll be in the East Village neighborhood of West Town later this afternoon showing condos up to $650,000.  East Village offers probably the best choice of modern design new (and newer) construction homes in the city.  The surrounding area offers the nightlife for those who tend to like this type of design as well.

New construction was back this year helping propel a 42% increase in condo unit sales within the traditional East Village boundaries.

226 condo sales (attached homes) have been recorded in the MLS this year from January 1st to December 6th, 2013 (up $42%).   That wallops the 160 units sold same period last year.  Only 116 units were sold in East Village same period in 2011. Units sales this year have doubled over 2011.

The median price of a sold condo this year is $414,000.   2011 was $355,000 and 2012 was $370,000.The highest sale this year is $765,000 for 1711 W Division #404.  The modern newer construction re-sale featured top floor, two beds, two baths, large roof top deck, elevator and garage parking.
