River Park field construction coincided with the big flood tunnel dig in Albany Park. |
Block Club Chicago reported today on the
ribbon cutting of the $70 million Albany Park tunnel to relive river flooding. River Park was a staging ground for construction the last couple years. The northern end of the park has looked like a disaster. However, new baseball and soccer fields along with new tennis courts are on their way. Latest construction update from the
40th Ward office.

The popular lighted tennis courts have been torn up for a long time. I would play here before my teens! |
The park itself has a lot of amenities when in full swing. The new fields and courts will be great. The pool-house and field house need some attention next.
